"Topographeme" is an audiovisual performance that explores the labels we place on place: names which are transliterated, rewritten, coopted, and erased. The piece traverses an abstract map with fictional, fragmentary labels generated in response to noise, spurts of nonsense, glitched signals. Sign-systems emerge and dissolve, contemplating both the scars of colonization and the potentiality of its collapse.
